Photoshop Tutorial - Eye Color Change

This tutorial will focus on changing the color of the eye. This is a simple technique that can be applied to other areas besides the eye as well.

Step 1

The image below is just a random image of an eye. Take your image and open it in Photoshop. This technique can be used in all versions of Photoshop.

Step 2

Create a new layer by clicking Layer -> New -> Layer Or Shift+Ctrl+N. You can give the layer a name if you like, like "New Eye Color".

Step 3

Select the Magnetic Lasso Tool and carefully trace around the edges of the eye.

Step 4

Now change the color to what ever you like. I've chosen green. Select the Paint Bucket Tool and click inside your Lasso to fill in the color.

Step 5

Double click the Eye Color Layer to display the Layer Style Properties. This can also be achieved by clicking Layer -> Layer Style -> Blending Options. Change the Blend Mode to hue, and the Opacity to 55%.

Step 6

Follow the same steps to alter the color in other areas of the photo. I did the lid as well in the example below.

Pretty simple, right?

Ready for Business!

I've been super busy the past 2 days getting the Creative Concepts 101 pages of my website ready. After much grueling work and hair pulling, I'm finally ready for business! Now I can relax a little ... that is, until next month when I have to gear up to teach my first class! Wow!

I'm actually very excited. I believe I've created an easy yet very comprehensive and compact course that people will enjoy. And better yet, will understand. I know design talk can sound like gibberish. I'm a designer!

Wait! What am I talking about? I haven't even posted the upcoming class yet. Sorry, my mistake. I'll go ahead and post the class -- and it's a GREAT class, by the way.

See you in a few!

Pre-Launch Post

Thought I'd add some graphic appeal to this. Say hello to my current hottie, Bollywood actor and model, Arjun Rampal.

A little about me:

I'm a full time web and graphic designer for an association management company. The associations I work with range anywhere from the state to international level. I've worked with a myriad of web and graphic design programs and applications, and am skilled in all aspects of design, from web designing (DreamWeaver, FrontPage, CSS, HTML, Script Writing), to photo and digital design (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), to print designs (QuarkXpress, Adobe). Currently I'm looking to expand her learning into Flash. I'm a freelance writer and designer as well.

I'm also a network affiliate marketer for several companies and own an internet network marketing business. I like to spend whatever free time I have left over devoted to reading and writing. I'm a member of RWA, an American Title finalist, and a semi-finalist in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest. You can visit me online at www.maichristythao.com or www.myspace.com/maichristythao.

Easy to grasp web and digital design concepts for the design-challenged.

If you've ever wanted to learn how to create your own promotional products, then this is the place for you! Put the control of your personal branding back into your hands! Why spend hundreds on expensive web and marketing materials while having to wait on another's schedule?

Finally, learning that doesn't require a heavy coursebook and words that don't look like gibberish.
